How Do You Calculate the Height of the King Post?

how do you calculate the height of king post of the roof structure?
Answered by Caitlin
Hi Thomas,
It is just simple geometry. For instance, a 24 foot truss with a 12/12 roof pitch would have a height of 12’. A 6/12 roof pitch would have a height if 6’
12/12 means there is a 12” rise for a 12” run. 6/12 is a 6” rise for a 12” run.
Cheers,
Doug

Which is the simplest way to get a long post of a roof of base 5mts and pitch degree is 35°
Hi Kevin,
The best way would be to hire a draftsperson to have a look and do the calculation to ensure that you get exactly what you need.
Thanks,
