This church uses an elegant arched timber truss, stained dark and made of douglas fir and steel. We worked with Morelock-Ross Builders and Mark Cummins with Marshall Walters Woody Architects on this beautiful church in Springfield, MO. It features douglas fir timbers with a dark stain, a graceful arched truss with a steel tie rod to resolve spreading forces and heavy timber scissor trusses in the cloister.

The finished sanctuary with douglas fir timber trusses. The finish is a dark minwax stain and flat black paint on the steel. A steel tie rod holds the truss, and the building, from spreading. A beautiful cathedral ceiling!

The extensive cloister features timber scissor trusses with black steel gusset plates. The steel was cut with a plasma cutter to a decorative shape.

The pre-engineered and pre-assembled truss is lifted off the ground by a crane. Straps, comealongs and tag lines are in place to help the erectors place it in the building.
