All buildings need to be engineered to conform to the structural requirements of their location.  Snow, wind or seismic forces could rule depending on whether the project is in the mountains on a sea coast or in an earthquake prone area. We work with the architects’ plans, design a structural timber frame and analyze it in 3d modeling programs to make sure it is up to the latest codes. We make sure our timber frames can withstand whatever forces they need to resist. Then the shop drawings are sealed with a stamp from a licensed engineer in the state where the project is located.

Our team generates detailed 3D models and 2d Shop Drawings of every timber frame we build. We iron out mechanical, electrical, and plumbing conflicts before fabrication begins and can provide shop drilled holes for pipes and wires.The shop drawings are stamped by a professional engineer licensed in the state where the project is located.

We can source sustainably harvested timbers for LEED projects. Expert craftsmen finish every beam to your exact texture specifications. Our timbers are cut using traditional methods and tools, assuring the fit and function that only skilled craftsmen and women can provide.

Timbers arrive organized, pre-labeled, and bundled. Bundles match your specific raising sequence to maximize efficiency. The timbers are delivered on a tractor trailer, so access to the site is required. For job sites that are too tight for a tractor trailer to get into, we recommend delivery to a local lumber yard who can transfer the load to the site on a smaller lumber truck.

There are two choices for installing the timber frame.

1. Our crew can travel to the site and install the frame. We will include travel, labor, equipment and crane costs in our proposal as a complete package. This is a good option for more complicated timber frames or when the contractor prefers to have all the work done by the same crew.
2. We can send and on-site consultant to to help a local construction crew install the timber frame. Often, this is a less expensive option for simple timber frames.

Either option is good. When our crew is available we take care of all of the details involved with raising the frame. When we send an on-site consultant, that person trains a competent local to do the work. the up side is that local crews get a kick out of raising a timber frame and the owner saves the cost of mobilizing our crew.
