The featured video above shows a timber frame horse barn being raised in Vermont. First the 'bents' (main carrying frames) are raised by the crane, then connecting beams are flown into place. The frame is made of native hemlock and will eventually house four horses, tack, feed, hay tractors and equipment.
A proposed heavy timber lodge for Deer Lake Scout Reservation in Killingworth, Connecticut. This frame will be made of made of eastern white pine timbers and douglas fir trusses and porch posts. It was designed by Huestis Tucker Architects, LLC.
This timber frame walk through is a proposal for Badger and Associates, Architects. It features a three story design with a Belvedere on the roof, similar to a widow's walk. The client is deciding to use weathered hemlock beams, new hand hewn oak timbers which are weathered to look like antique beams or real antique oak timbers.

PAS Architects designed this new Orthodox Church in Waldorf, Maryland and asked us to design a timber frame for it. The results are shown in the YouTube video on the left. The timber frame design is purely basic and structural now. Ornamental timbers, corbels, finials and arches may be added as the interior design progresses.

Heavy Timber Pavilions
This video shows a native oak timber frame being erected. The frame is 40'x96' and included a loft and a large open area for tractors and farm equipment. It is on a beautiful estate surrounded by a vineyard, a christmas tree farm and expansive lawns. It is built on a brick foundation with arched door openings.
Barn Raising in Pennsylvania
Timber Frame "Bent" (main carrying frame) being raised. First the bent is lifted into the air by then crane, then turned around to face the proper direction. Next the post bases a prepared with epoxy and finally the bent is lowered into place and braced off.
